Emily: still life and floral painter, writer, poet; Jean Paul: landscape and portrait painter; Boston, Mass. and New Hampshire. Emily was originally from Wilmington, N.C. and was instrumental in establishing the Normal Art School, Louisville, Ky. Both worked in Providence, R.I. and Boston. Toured Europe 1882-1885.
